HRDC Invites Media to Exclusive Preview of Homeward Point

BOZEMAN, MT - As construction nears completion on Homeward Point, HRDC invites media representatives to an exclusive preview of the region’s newest emergency shelter. The event will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15th. Please meet at the shelter’s south-facing main entrance, located at 206 E Griffin Drive within HRDC’s Community Commons campus in Bozeman.

Set to open in summer 2025, Homeward Point is designed to fundamentally reshape how our community supports individuals and families experiencing homelessness. As the final component of Community Commons, Homeward Point co-locates emergency shelter with food access, case management, and supportive services—streamlining care and reducing the barriers many people face when seeking help.

During the media preview, attendees will have the opportunity to:

● Tour the nearly complete Homeward Point facility

● Hear from HRDC leadership about the development process and design

● Learn how the shelter’s features are tailored to support dignity, safety, and long-term stability

Homeward Point will replace the existing warming center on Wheat Drive, which was never intended to be a permanent facility. The new space includes separate sleeping areas for families and individuals, enhanced privacy and security, ADA-accessible facilities, and onsite case management spaces where customers can work toward permanent housing solutions.

Thanks to its proximity to Market Place next door, guests at Homeward Point can easily access meals, food boxes, benefit navigation, and other essential services without needing to travel between locations.

In Gallatin County and across Montana, the need for expanded shelter options continues to grow. Homeward Point is our community’s response to that urgent need—a facility purpose-built to help neighbors facing housing instability move from crisis to stability.

HRDC encourages members of the press to attend this milestone event to see firsthand the future of shelter in our region.
