Access to mental health services remains a growing challenge across Southwest Montana, with increasing demand for counseling, psychiatric care, prescription management, and crisis response. While HRDC is not a mental health care provider, our strategy focuses on supporting community partners already delivering these services and advocating for policies that help expand access to care.

What the Needs Assessment Tells Us

Through surveys, community conversations, and regional data analysis, HRDC’s Community Needs Assessment identified access to mental health services as a significant challenge for many residents across Southwest Montana. Respondents frequently described difficulty finding providers, navigating insurance coverage, and accessing affordable care.
