Amos House re-opened May 15, 2012 and renovations are planned to open up separate space for women. HRDC’s Home to Stay Program manages AMOS House interim housing for male and female individuals currently experiencing homelessness. Interim housing provides short-term stays for community members while they chart their course to self-sufficiency and a return to permanent, stable housing. Tenants will gain a sense of community and work experience as they share in house and volunteer responsibilities.
The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation announced a challenge gift to AMOS House in May 2012.
Your gifts in support of the challenge are tax deductible.

The Washington Foundation celebrates that we are all linked by common interests to do more for the places we call home. The Foundation selected the HRDC’s AMOS House as a recipient of a $20,000 challenge grant, so that we may better serve the community and the tenants who are selected to participate in this results-oriented opportunity. Your gift to AMOS House supports the Housing Initiatives of the HRDC and helps us fill a critical gap in available housing in the area.
